In Rhyl, three miles of golden sands offer a safe and clean environment for your family,. There are traditional seaside activities such as swimming, paddling and donkey rides but there is also the chance to go sea fishing, surfing and kitesurfing all under the watchful eyes of our seasonal lifeguard service.
Prestatyn is proud to fly their Blue Flag, awarded to their beaches for strict water quality, safety, environmental and education standards. The three beaches at Prestatyn - Ffrith, Barkby and Central beaches - offer everything a family could need, from wide, shallow sands to nearby facilities and refreshment. And don’t forget to look at the stunning view which reaches as far as Anglesey and the mountains of Snowdonia.
Our beaches are safe too - fully qualified lifeguards watch over the zoned areas on both beaches and also patrol the non-zoned areas giving out safety advice. There are three lifeguard stations providing a staffed presence offering advice and guidance and providing first aid.
It’s not only the two-legged visitors who love to visit, but also those with wings and four legs! Thousands of migrant birds flock to the sands each year, including rare Little Terns, and you might be lucky to spot Sand lizards and Natterjack toads.
